Using Bridgeboard
Bridgeboard provides public university information and an optional account for saving and organizing transfer options. These Terms apply when you access or use the service. Account creation requires you to affirmatively accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Age and eligibility
Bridgeboard is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age at which you may agree to these Terms on your own, use Bridgeboard only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.
Accounts
You are responsible for your account credentials and for information submitted through your account. An account is not required for public exploration. Bridgeboard may suspend or revoke access when reasonably needed to protect users, investigate misuse, or enforce these Terms.
Information, not a decision or guarantee
Bridgeboard organizes public information, official-source links, and user-authored planning notes. It does not rank universities, determine which school is best for a person, guarantee admission, calculate an official financial-aid award, or decide how credits will transfer or apply to a degree. The receiving institution has final authority over admission, aid, and credit evaluation.
Verify official sources
University policies, deadlines, costs, programs, and financial-aid rules can change. Bridgeboard shows source links and review context where available, but cannot promise that every field is complete or current. Verify material decisions with the institution and the official source.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, probe or bypass access controls, impersonate another person, submit unlawful or harmful material, interfere with other users, scrape private account data, or use Bridgeboard to make automated high-impact decisions about a person. Public institutional information may be viewed for personal and educational use.
Your content
You retain ownership of notes and other content you enter. You give Bridgeboard permission to store, process, and display that content to you only as needed to operate the service. Do not submit sensitive information or content you do not have the right to use.
Bridgeboard content
The Bridgeboard name, product design, software, original writing, and organization of the service are owned by Bridgeboard or its licensors. You may use the service for personal and educational purposes, but may not copy, sell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit protected parts of the service except where the law permits it.
Third-party services and links
Bridgeboard relies on service providers for authentication, hosting, monitoring, and communications and links to websites operated by universities and other organizations. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and policies.
Beta availability and changes
Bridgeboard is in active development and is provided as a public beta. Features may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn. Bridgeboard may suspend or end access as reasonably needed to protect users or the service, address unlawful or material misuse, or discontinue a feature.
Disclaimer
Bridgeboard is provided “as is” and “as available” for informational and planning use. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, complete or current institutional information, or a particular admission, aid, credit-transfer, or academic outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Bridgeboard will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, data, or profits arising from use of the service. Bridgeboard’s total liability for a claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Bridgeboard during the 12 months before the claim. This limitation does not apply where the law does not permit it.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Illinois law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles and without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live. Any court proceeding must be brought in a state or federal court located in Cook County, Illinois, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about use of Bridgeboard and replace prior statements about the same subject.
