Terms of Use
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Bridgeboard, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Who Can Use Bridgeboard
Bridgeboard is intended for students exploring transfer pathways to four-year universities. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we discover a user is under 13 years of age, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your profile. Bridgeboard reserves the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms or provide intentionally false information.
Use of the Platform
Bridgeboard is provided for informational and educational purposes. The match scores, university recommendations, and financial aid estimates are tools to help you make informed decisions — they are not guarantees of admission or financial aid. Always verify information directly with universities and their financial aid offices.
Your Data and Privacy
You retain full control over your data at all times and may delete your account at any time. Your use of this platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
University Partnerships & Data Sharing
Bridgeboard may share limited, anonymized academic data (such as GPA range, completed credits, and area of academic interest) with participating universities to facilitate transfer opportunities. Universities never receive your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information without your explicit action. If a university identifies your anonymous profile as a strong match, you may receive an invitation in your dashboard. You are never required to respond, and your personal information is only shared if you choose to accept.
Student Privacy Laws
Bridgeboard complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Illinois Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA). Specifically: we do not use student data for targeted advertising or to build profiles for non-educational purposes; we do not share personally identifiable information with third parties without explicit student consent; and we delete student data upon account termination. The platform is operated solely for educational purposes — to help students make informed transfer decisions.
Accuracy of Information
We strive to keep university data accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all information. University requirements, acceptance rates, and financial aid policies change frequently. Financial aid estimates shown on Bridgeboard are approximations based on publicly available data and should not be taken as official offers from any university.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code on Bridgeboard is the property of Bridgeboard and its founder. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
Limitation of Liability
Bridgeboard is not responsible for any decisions made based on information provided on the platform. We are not affiliated with any university listed on the platform. Use of this platform does not constitute an application to any university.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by email or through the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These policies are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes arising from the use of this platform will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Illinois.
